Bruins' Milan Lucic pleads not guilty to 'pulling wife Brittany back by hair as he tried to find pho

BOSTON Bruins winger Milan Lucic has pleaded not guilty to attacking his wife during a drunken argument over the weekend.

Lucic was arrested early on Saturday morning for assault and battery after his wife, Brittany Lucic, called 911 and said he tried to choke her.

The altercation began at 1:04 am on Saturday when an officer responded to the scene, according to a report obtained by The Boston Globe.

The police officer said he met the victim, who identified herself as Lucic's wife, Brittany.

She claimed Lucic could not find his cell phone after a night out which she believed involved drinking. She told the officer Lucic began demanding the phone which she didn't have.

After attempting to walk away, she said Lucic grabbed her by the hair and pulled her backward. He allegedly told her that they wouldn't be going anywhere, according to the police report.

The officer reported redness on Lucic's wife's chest and asked if Lucic attempted to strangle her to which she stated he did not.

The officer and sergeant then met Lucic in the apartment, who "appeared to be intoxicated when he answered the door," the report said.

"[Lucic] stated to officers that nothing had happened and did not attempt to provide any explanation," per the report.

Lucic was informed of the allegations and officers took him to retrieve clothes where they observed a broken lamp.

He was then arrested and taken to the Boston Police Department's downtown station.

The Boston Bruins announced he would be taking "an indefinite leave of absence" following the arrest.

"The organization takes these matters very seriously, and we will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need," the Bruins said in a statement.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery declined to comment on the situation.

“I don't have any further comment because I haven't talked to anyone about where that situation's at right now more than what we did after the game yesterday,” he said.

The 6-foot-3, 236-pound Vancouver native has been sidelined since October 21 due to injury. He had two assists in four games this season.

Lucic is due back in court on January 19, 2024.

Neither the Bruins nor the Boston Police Department has responded to The U.S. Sun's request for comment.
